New cert: SecOT+

CompTIA should have designated representatives for publishing proposed/approved new certifications and offerings to the CompTIA Instructor Network.

It's a shame that we find out about new stuff no sooner than the general public at large.

Seriously, you will find no advocates for CompTIA more knowledgeable or enthusiastic than CompTIA Instructors, but we're out of the loop far too often.

Pshhhaww... C'mon Greg. You're an instructor. Being the last to know is part of the job, mate.

I'm half expecting to hear about new certifications from a student holding a freshly printed poster at this point and of course I completely agree we are the ones who carry the CompTIA flag every day. Giving instructors a headsup or a little early access would be beneficial even if it was just a secret handshake newsletter...

At our age, slowly is the only speed we have left.
Speak for yourself, mate. I hit the gym three times a week. While I'm not as fast on my feet as I used to be when I was young and running 12 min two milers for the Army, I can still hold my own.

Speaking of which, today's a gym day and the pool awaits - a new part of my routine.

That's the best part of living in Florida. Pool season lasts a lot longer.

Anyone heard of this one yet? I don't see draft objectives posted on the CompTIA site yet. Definitely interested in more info!

Yes. I believe that this new course will cover the Purdue Model for ICS.

Many people work for utilities for which our Security+ objectives are not a good fit. We mention Bastion hosts, jump servers, and SCADA, but we could do better.
