    Happy Monday Everyone! I know you are all excited for our Question of the Week, and this week we are going to try something… a little different :cool:

    We know you have heard a lot from us, but we want to hear from YOU! Anything goes, whether it's a future topic you'd like us to cover or a question you have that is relevant to you.

    To make things a bit more exciting, we will be doing a Random Giveaway drawing for all those who have participated sometime this week. EVERY submission will be included into our giveaway (i.e., if you have 2 submissions, you get 2 entries).

    We will draw multiple names, and winners will have their choice of some FREE content (voucher, e-learning, eBooks, etc.) or some very cool “CIN Swag” (thanks Rick Butler)!

    While I have my own means and connections to many people at CompTIA, one thing I'd like to have answered for the group is if there is an official way to report content issues, fixes, or corrections for any teachers out there using CompTIA materials. We get asked things like this a lot either here or in TTT's.

    I've heard that there are future plans for the following:

    Cybersecurity Foundations+
    Data Science+
    Data Systems+
    Data Foundations+
    Coding Foundations+
    Cloud Foundations+
    IT Foundations+

    I'm not sure if Cloud Essentials+ is morphing into Cloud Foundations+ or if IT Fundamentals+ is morphing into IT Foudnations+. That would have to be answered by members of a CompTIA secret society.

    I think years ago, i saw an Overview. But today i believe this is for internal use only. But does it really matter?
    You know, there are not a lot of People certified, when it is retiered as with Storage by SNA, Mobility (moved into A+ or Cloud, Sec+), Mobility App (hard to be up to date, with a 3 Year renew Cycle) or CDIA/PDI (moved into A+).

    Sounds like a lot of Microsoft MTA Stuff. So, low level Beginner.
    Probably a CompTIA Enduser Security Foundation would be a good idea.
    But for the ones listed above: as long it is not official: It does not exist for the Outside World.
    Data+ took years. i remember talking with CompTIA about that one in 2016 in London, that would be a good one, but without the Big Data Part

    I'd be interested in knowing what the passing rates are of the exams. I know what those rates are for the classes I teach, and it always is dependent on the group, their demographics, and motivation. What is the passing rate percentage for the 1st attempt, 2nd attempt, etc? What percentage of people need an additional attempt, how many never even try again? Part is curiosity, but part is also to motivate students.

    What I would love to see from CompTIA is some help for K-12 Schools.

    CompTIA is making the cost of books very high, by forcing us to buy 12-month access per student for books.

    If I buy a book from Wiley I get the access for as long as we own the book. They also send me the instructor version for free. If I want the e-books for students the want them registered to a person. I want to be able to register them to [email protected] and etc.

    That way when I move students through ITF+ in 12 Weeks, I can give the book to the next section just like if I own the physical book. My physical book does not follow the student for life.

    Just my thought.

    Hello, first, As far as i know, there are Special Prices for Education (around 50% Discount on Vouchers?) and there should be Discounts as well for other Products.
    You are not bonded to use the CompTIA books for Training like with other Vendors (Certnexus, Microsoft and Co.), which require you to use official Courseware for officially teching the Course.
    Ebooks today are usually matched to one specify Person.
    I don`t know, if that would be withhin the Limits of the License Agreement (so don`t beat me if i am wrong):
    If you need 12 Licenses for like 12 Students,
    create 12 Accounts that you are Managing, register each one the Book you need, and change the Password after the Course. So you control the Accounts. Not the Students.
    And the Student looses Access after Course is finished. (but check if that would be allowed)
    But just buying paperbased Books seems the easiest Way imho or writing your own Couseware with an Online Solution.
    Could be a SOHO business Idea?

    There's a plethora of answers possible here.

    • Like many vendors, CompTIA may not want to give exact details about these numbers especially if they're lower than they'd like them to be.
    • One way in which you can crowd source an answer is via Credly. This however is NOT the whole answer and will only give you a fraction.

    I would to echo the passing statistics rate ask. I have heard of employers (asking for a friend) who measured their instructors on the passing rate of the students. Like all statistics there is an average rate and it would be helpful to know what that average rate of passing is in order to put individual and small class passing rates into context. I suspect the passing rate is between 50-60 percent for first time test takers.

    I have like 50% Passing Rate with 2 Students on Site in an Accelarated Training, taking the Exam or around 80% in a normal Class. or something inbetween.
    That doe align with: What do the Students know before? Do they meet Pre-Requisit? Are they Willing to learn in the Evening to take the Exam on the Last Day of Course? Is this there First Exam in an IT Course?
    So measure via Passing rate is B***shit. Also using a 10 Point Scale to measure the Performance of Trainer, when everthing <= 7 is already not good...

    I can be wrong but I think that Security+ is a compTIA certification most taken from every others compTIA certifications. Network+ and Linux+ maybe after
