Security+ SY0-601 sunset update?

No official statement from CompTIA yet.

Typically, the exams retire 3 years after the launch date.
So, since it was launched in Nov 2020, it is possible that a new exam will be launched by Nov 2023.

It is also typical that there'll be some overlap between the new and the old exam.
So, it is possible that the old exam (SY0-601) could still be around until first quarter of 2024.

The overlap is there so as to give ample time for students to finish the course they are currently taking.
Same with the training providers and trainers, so they can prepare for the new exam.

I've been reading some scuttlebutt on some forums and it's mostly uninformed guessing.

No official announcement from CompTIA yet. The beta for the new version isn't even out yet, so it will be a while before the old one retires. Unless the new one drops soon, the old one will probably still be active in early 2024. The "3 year" revision pattern is more of a guideline than a rule.
