I'm teaching the new Tech+ course this semester, and I have some students interested in taking the cert exam. Anyone know when the Tech+ exam information will be posted to the website? The website still says "Exam details coming soon."

With a little experimenting, I found the Tech+ exam is actually listed as available to schedule once you sign in. But I don't see information on how long the exam is or how many questions. And this information is not available on my latest version of the exam objectives.

Thanks

I was not sure those are exactly information. But I have taken Tech+ exam with 65 questions in 135 minutes.

I took the exam in December and I had 60 multiple choice questions. The passing score is 650 on a 100-900 scale.

Essentially, it's the updated version of ITF+.

Yes, I've explained this to my students. At this level, this will be the first cert exam for all of them, so trying to give them all the details I can so they feel more comfortable to take the leap and jump into it. What did you think of the exam? Anything surprising?

Also, no PBQs, right? Only multiple choice/multiple response?

I have my TTT voucher...need to get in there and take it myself.

Yes, you should take the exam first to get more experience. About PBQs, sorry I could not remember because I took 02 exams (Tech+ and Cloud+) in the same day, so I could not remember about PBQs has or not for Tech+.

My impressions of the exam won't be the same as the student's impressions of the exam. I thought it was one of the easiest tech exams I've ever taken, but it should be because I have 30+ years of tech experience. Mostly, it was a glorified vocabulary exam. They cover troubleshooting, but there wasn't anything particularly challenging in it. The students will have a different impression of course, but it's significantly easier than A+, Net+, Security+, or Data+ because it doesn't demand memorization of technical specifications.

Just what I needed--thank you!
