Dears ,what about creating a new program for Comptia Certified Instructor like MCT for microsof for these reasons:

1-Ensure qualificatin of instructors who are teaching in Comptia learning Partners
2-Annual fees should be paid for this membership
3-More resource access to instructors
4-Instructor must pass presentation skills on line

It is just an idea :giggle:

As Fanuel pointed out, there is the CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer. (CTT+) You can find information about it here:

CompTIA CTT+

Now, if you are a Delivery Partner with CompTIA (not an academic), you're required to employ CTT+'s on your staff.

There are two tracks for it, Online Delivery and On-Ground/Classroom Delivery. You have to take a written exam, followed by a 10-15 minute demonstration, with live students.

It's not a bad thing to get, but there aren't any special goodies that come with the credential, except the credential itself. And it really is tough to beat what we offer here at CIN.

I am looking at the exam objectives of the CTT but I am looking to take it. I guess can be useful. I only saw the classroom one. I didn't see online one.
So the computer-based exam objectives are here:

CTT+ Objectives for TK0-201

Once you take the 201, you then do the performance side for Classroom (202) and/or Virtual (203).

The exam is Good for Life - so no renewals required after.

I've done 'Instructor' certifications before for Novell, and Cisco. I'm pursuing CTT+ now. I have to tell everyone I'm a huge fan of Joseph Phillips 'All-in-One' CTT+ exam guide. I bought my copy used (and yes, I feel guilty about that - I should have bought it new). It's copyrighted in 2012 but it reads really, really well. The chapters are short and really written as I imagine Joseph presents. Great summaries. Lots (and lots and lots) of sample questions. It's written from an in person, standing in front of a classroom training perspective. It would be good to update this book with for virtual and cloud based lab training environments.

The MCT Programm is going down the River.. Lot of Changes. High Yearly Fee. Less Courses.. Very Restricted... Don`t want the CompTIA CIN go that way....
Lot of unhappy Trainer in the Moment..
MCT since 2001...

I personally don't see CIN going that route, since CompTIA has been more about representing the needs of the industry at large, not a specific company. The vendor-neutral position of CompTIA is its greatest asset because no one company, no matter how big they are, can ever be the end-all for every single organization. It's this heterogenous approach that aligns to what the industry actually is.

CIN wants people who are experts in Microsoft working with experts in Linux - AWS specialists who can work with Google GCP. Heck...even Apple (as tough as it is for me to say, they have a place at the table as well).

I've always felt that Microsoft's exclusivism would be its undoing. Probably why I would rather be known as a CompTIA instructor than a Microsoft one.

Yes! While I've never read this particular book, I think we definitely need to expand the body of knowledge regarding Virtual/Online training. I think the pandemic created a deep need for folks who could deliver engaging online content that would surpass that of just watching a YouTube video. That's always the trick -how do you create an engaging instructional environment for the learner who is trying to study at home, but is deluged with distractions ranging from pets and children. The physical classroom separates the learner from the distractions of life for a time and puts them in an environment conducive to learning.

I think, as instructors, we're learning a lot about this, but I don't think we've really started compiling the knowledge yet. I've had several courses in virtual instruction, but they have all been generalities. Personally, I'd love to know what others do in the virtual space.

I was an MCT for 10 and a half years between 2006 and 2017. I finally gave it up for several reasons.

Microsoft increased the fee for MCT renewals from $400/year to $800/year. It is absolutely ridiculous that any vendor charges a trainer a fee to teach clients about their technology. Trainers are the biggest advocates for a vendor's technology and can influence decision-makers buying decisions. They should be paying us, not us paying them.

For most of those 10 and a half years, I was teaching more CompTIA classes, ITIL Foundations, and PMP classes. It was incredibly rare that anyone asked me to teach a Microsoft class. I quit getting new Microsoft certifications with the exception of the Microsoft Office Specialist exams, and that was because a few clients required that I was certified in the most recent version. I've thought about a couple of their new Azure certifications but AWS is dominating the cloud space at this time.

Their official curriculum is abysmal. When I got started in the early 2000s, they had some excellent courseware and labs. I got my MCSE and toyed with the idea of getting my MCDBA. I never took the exams, but I had the equivalent knowledge at the time. In an effort to save money, they subcontracted their courseware to contractors, and the quality control was terrible. I'd run SharePoint classes that were destined to fail. The content was a disoranized jumbled mess, with huge knowledge gaps. The labs failed almost 100% of the time and I'd spend too much time putting in workarounds just so we could finish the class.

I took the first part of the CTT+ exam years ago but never completed the second part, which required a recording of a class. I may eventually break down and do it, just to check that cert off the list.

But I'll never be an MCT ever again.

Mct Programm ensures the high quality of trainer I am an MCT proctor and got MCT since 1996
I do not discuss this here. Since Off-Topic. But, no i don`t agree with you there, gregory gave some reasons. I am an MCT since 2001 an an MCP sind 1997. But everyone is free to have their own Opinion. So do not reply to this anyfurther.
But would like to know, what an MCT Proctor was... seems i forgot that one..
