CompTIA launched its new website and e-commerce store on Tuesday this week. I have seen a few questions about the site and making purchases.
There have been a number of videos created to help users walk through several areas of the new website.

The topics for these videos include:
    • New Account Creation:

    • Student Account Creation with SheerID callout:

    • CompTIA Central:

    • Navigating Purchasing:

    • B2B Customer Profile Set-up (Tax exempt, W-9, Line of credit):

Please note that this currently just affects U.S. customers. The International store will be launching a little later this year. If you are having issues trying to place an order, you need to reach out to your account representative. I hope these videos will be able to answer some questions and are helpful.

    Thank you,
    Stephen

@Stephen this is very helpful. Those of us outside the US we are waiting patiently to be rolled onto the new CompTIA store

Hi Stephen, thanks for the videos — they’re really helpful.

I’m not sure if I’m addressing the right person, but one thing that’s been triggering my OCD is how the certifications are displayed on the page. Right now, they seem scattered and listed alphabetically, which doesn’t feel intuitive. I put together a simple mock-up that groups them by certification type, which I think makes more sense.

Hopefully, this small piece of feedback can help improve the experience for everyone as the new website takes shape.

Your screenshot made me do a backtake and go figure out what "CompTIA Linux Pro" is supposed to be.

Turns out it's a training resource that I was completely unfamiliar with -> https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/linux-pro/

And it looks like it's actually pretty affordable, at $65 for a year. That's really not too bad.

Is this rebranded TestOut stuff? I think so, right?

Yes, @Tess Sluijter you are correct. Any of the titles including "Pro" in the name, are the rebranded TestOut products.

Hi @tir.and thanks for post. I am not sure if this helps any, but at the top of the Certification page it does list the various categories for certifications. It defaults to "All", but you could select a specific track. Does that help?

Hi @Stephen Schneiter I see them but they are still not listed according to what they are (Pro Certifications, Expert Certifications, A+ CompCert, Pro Compcets).
Tess has made me realize the page lists certifications and courses together , for example "CompTIA Linux Pro" is a learning product, not a certification product and yet it shows up on the page with other certifications.

Your confusion appears to be more common: people on Reddit are now starting to ask if "these new Pro certifications from CompTIA are worth it".

It becomes even more confusing that they have both A+ and a+ now. That will also confuse a lot of people, especially because "a+ network" (for example) has the same red color as the full certifications like A+, Net+ etc.

CompTIA needs to make it clearer how these products differ from each other. And I feel that branding the training series as a+ (versus the cert A+) is a marketing failure, unless they want to sow confusion and have people buy more products.

Oh man. I hadn't visited the new website yet and I'm sorry to say it, but some parts have become very muddled.

I used to link people directly to pages like https://www.comptia.org/certifications/network or https://www.comptia.org/certifications/a, because those pages offered all required information in one spot!

Those pages used to have a nice description, a way to get the objectives, the clear list of active versions, their expiry dates and more.

Now it looks like a webshop.

The information is stil there in tabs, but it's a lot less clear.

Plus why did they feel the need to muddy the waters more? They've now started mixing V14 and V15, with 1101/1102 and 1201/1202. That will make students even more confused.

I'm so glad someone said this. I was thinking the exact same thing, lol.

Sorting by clicking a category tab doesn't fix the problem--they should be listed according to item type as well (e.g., Compcert, Certification, etc.). And entry-level items should be listed higher on the page than expert-level items. I'm thinking about my students who come in knowing literally nothing about CompTIA, and I'm trying to explain to them what these things are. If the items they'll need are listed at the top of the page by default, it would be much easier to acclimate them to all these products!
