We have very different opinions on what complaining looks like it seems. This thread was about several people wishing that it might make a return. And my comments mirror several of your opinions.

Are There New Requirements for CompTIA Trainers?

Yeah. But i do not understand why People Complain about this. Creating a Certification with Course, Slides and Exam is really costly.
The CTT had the problem, that a third partner was need to review the videos (payed by the student, but when and how many do you need?).
CompTIA does not offer Certification because some people complain.. It needs a business case.. Otherwise gone CompTIA Certs like Storage (by SNA), Mobile, PDI, CDIA where still available.. But they are not..
It may take some years, before a new Exam is created and the Budget is there..
Like i said: If you need an Certificate for Educational competence, get one like from Microsoft for MCTs. a little more expensive then the CTT (where the book is still available), but not so expensive.
So complaining here from a few will not reverse the decision by CompTIA to let the expire..
My 2c
CompTIA has several certifications that do not meet a business case. The Data+/DataSys+/DataX series is an example. Very little demand for these certs since they were launched.
MCT does not prove educational competence. It proves you paid Microsoft a fee.
Gregory, hosnestly, i believe you did understood what i meant:
To become a MCT, you had / have to prove your educational Skills. Even if there are more then 30.000 MCTs right now (which will be decreased in 2026), you have to attend an Course.

Sarcasm: What do you need to call your self an CompTIA Trainer? Nothing. You can just call yourself so..
And i do not the Details for the Data Track, if the Business Case is matching the Numbers.. We will see.
But DATA+ will get a V2, so it seems not so bad yet, that they cancel it altogether right now.
But CTT will not come back, i am pretty sure about that..
I used an internal train-the-trainer certificate from a company I was working for at the time to get my MCT. The MCT does not prove any capabilities whatsoever. It's just bureaucratic nonsense. I eventually dropped mine because they charged too much to keep it, and it provided zero value. Originally , it was only extended to technical instructors, but was eventually extended to application instructors teaching Word and Excel.

The MOS Trainer are mostly gone.
When i applied in 2000, you could use different ways to provide your Educational Expertise, one was 200 Training Days (like you did) proved by your Employee. but that is long gone. And i attended some MCT Presentations for Evaluation, and some failed on that Course. But as always you can repeat it.
Each Vendor has the right to design their Way to validate the Skills. And for some Learning is a Business Case and Cash Cow. But that will be offtopic.
You are long enough in the game to give a **** about a Educational Cert.
Me too (i habe an todays equilavent in Germany as Master of Education), but for new Trainers this is a legitmate request. And some Training Companies wanna see some prof that you have heard about some stuff for Training. Like with an Security Course and Exam.. You heard about it, and enough to understood it to pass the Exam.
Ticket recieved to prove the real World with your knowledge..

You may not agree with what Microsoft is duing, but at least, they offer new Trainers a way to prove Educational basic for 3rd Party.
