Exam Proctoring

Hum, found the policy :(

CompTIA certificate holders who wish to become a test center administrator must wait a minimum of six (6) months following the most recent CompTIA exam before becoming a test center administrator.
Current test center administrators who wish to take a CompTIA exam must first resign from the test center administrator position and wait a minimum of six (6) months before registering to take CompTIA exams.

That makes sense. I'm just wondering how to solve my situation.

Becoming a CompTIA Tutor/Mentor

My suggestions are

1. Be sure you are also certified or have alternative certs or at least have the industy/hands-on experience in these certifications so as to provide appropriate guide for intending trainees

2. Affilliate yourself with any partnered training organization around you.

Above ensures seamless support for persons that wants to get certified through you.

Hope this helps?
Thanks.
Thank you and yes I am certified in A+ and Security+ and I am currently working towards my CySA+ and have 10+ years of experience. I created my own program to carry out my goal to advocate for IT. I greatly appreciate your response. I will look into becoming affiliated. Thank you again!

Tech+ exam information?

Yes, I've explained this to my students. At this level, this will be the first cert exam for all of them, so trying to give them all the details I can so they feel more comfortable to take the leap and jump into it. What did you think of the exam? Anything surprising?

Also, no PBQs, right? Only multiple choice/multiple response?

I have my TTT voucher...need to get in there and take it myself.
Yes, you should take the exam first to get more experience. About PBQs, sorry I could not remember because I took 02 exams (Tech+ and Cloud+) in the same day, so I could not remember about PBQs has or not for Tech+.

Exam Proctoring

I just took Tech+ as I got my voucher from the TTT. I may want to partner with some high schools and offer that. Being far from everything and with the student population at BYU-Hawaii, testing centers are inaccessible. Like most higher education institutions, our testing center closed. I am encouraging more students to certify and running into issues. I am looking at what options exist? I have done training, where the last day was when I, as a student, took the proctored certification exam (RedHat is an example). I guess you are saying that is not the CompTIA way.

I'm just trying to understand my options. I have loaned out a laptop more than a few times, and I now see that is not allowed. Maybe it never was, and I just missed it even though it is in all caps.

"
Exclusion of OnVUE Exams at Training Centers

OnVUE remote proctoring is not intended for cohort-based exam delivery or for use by training centers to administer high-stakes certification exams. Consequently, the repeated use of a specific laptop or workstation from a training center is strictly prohibited. CANDIDATES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REUSE THE SAME LAPTOP OR WORKSTATION THAT WAS ALREADY USED BY OTHER TESTING CANDIDATES. Candidates who are discovered sharing the same device for multiple CompTIA exam attempts may face revocation of their exam scores and a potential suspension period.
"
Anyway, I'm wondering about options. I would like to push the trifecta and other certifications with my students, but not having a testing center that is accessible is a major issue. One of the problems with living in a rural paradise. Lookin for options. I do no teach many of the courses, but would be willing to proctor for other classes.

I guess what I am asking if we wanted to offer tests would we need to be a PearsonVue testing center https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/test-centers/become-a-test-center.html

Tech+ exam information?

I took the exam in December and I had 60 multiple choice questions. The passing score is 650 on a 100-900 scale.

Essentially, it's the updated version of ITF+.

Tech+ exam information?

Thanks for posting--I think this is the same version I have from the Tech+ TTT. Or at least, this one also doesn't list number of questions or length of exam. Hopefully we'll get an updated version soon!

Tech+ exam information?

I'm teaching the new Tech+ course this semester, and I have some students interested in taking the cert exam. Anyone know when the Tech+ exam information will be posted to the website? The website still says "Exam details coming soon."

With a little experimenting, I found the Tech+ exam is actually listed as available to schedule once you sign in. But I don't see information on how long the exam is or how many questions. And this information is not available on my latest version of the exam objectives.

Thanks

Need for Linux+, Cloud+, DataSys+, DataX Instructors

You're not telling us WHERE on-site, Liz. Nor whether international trainers are accepted.
I apologize, I didn't specify as that would be per client request. We get many onsite requests on a very regular basis so I was trying to keep it generic. I am currently looking for US based instructors. Thank you!
