Comptia tech+ still not available?

@DougBrooks - congratulations on your nuptials.

@Stephen Schneiter and @Rick Butler - is there a material re: changes to the CompTIA course content, that moving forward there will be no offline access?

I thought that CertMaster Perform is an additional platform, with labs etc, then there will still be the CertMaster Learn and ebooks. (?)

Typo in instructor guide

Perhaps Support would be your best bet, although I don't see much to happen with that, since the next revision of Security+ will deliver through CertMaster Perform, so the guides themselves will go away, I'm thinking.
I hope not. I really like having an instructor and student guide, even in PDF format. Makes it easier to reference them for the students, and for me.

Comptia tech+ still not available?

You should be able to get access to the content through the platform. I have reached out to the Customer Success Manager, Leon Cawsey [email protected], for your region and gave him situation. He will need your training org so he can match correctly. It was not in your CIN profile so I could not help him much. You should be receiving email from him.

Leon will be the best to answer your questions about PDFs. I agree with @Rick Butler, I do not think they are available.

Sorry, you are having to manage this with the honeymoon! But, I hope you are able to enjoy the time.

Thank you Rick for the reply, off line learning is something that our learners find really useful, I can understand the need to encourage learners to use the online platform as we can teach progress etc, but for those moments.when you want to brush up on something it's a faff to log in and find the content you need say on a mobile.

Congrats on the nuptials!

So, Tech+ isn't going to have a PDF like before. All of the materials for certifications that CompTIA is updating are getting pushed into CertMaster Perform - so one of the biggest changes - no books like we had before - at least that's my understanding. Offline learning was something that seemed to be an unanswered request from what I saw at conference.

I'm not sure if the transition guide is out there somewhere yet - but then, I've not had a moment to even look.

@Stephen Schneiter might be able to fill in a couple holes here.

CompTia AI contents

I read about CompTIA AI but this not recognize in my present living country. Wonder CompTIA Expansions content is much deeper enough for professional beside basic, should have content such as LLM or Adversarial.

Or I missed something about this?
If I read your question correctly, you're wondering about the Expansions that CompTIA is doing. Essentially, I see these as addenda to the regular certs that are being offered, so probably not like a 'deeper on a particular topic' or a self-standing cert. I like to think of it as say adding a couple more domains to a standing certification.

I'm sure CompTIA is listening for ideas on Expansions for certs - since this is the first foray into this idea.

Comptia tech+ still not available?

Hi Guys, I/we are in a bit of a bind as I am due to start delivering this course from the 23rd of this month.

With the courseware date being pushed back to yesterday (04/07 UK) from its intended August release date the time for prep was going to be ok, but after its no show yesterday I am a little concerned, especially as I do not have access to the pre-release materials to prepare myself with.

The reason time is so tight is that I fly out on our honeymoon tomorrow afternoon and do not return until the day before I am due to deliver it, all would have been fine, but now...... :(

Can we please have an update as to when it is actually going live, or can someone who has the pre-release PDF so I can read it on the flight please share it

Thank you

Pentest+ delivery Firebrand training

Yes I have, the labs are key to the course. I've taught Pentest+ to students who have very little real experience and zero professional experience. For that I try to move a bit faster through the theory so we can do the Cert Master Labs and delve into the Try Hack Me Pentest+ Path so they get their hands dirty. I do that in college courses that deal with security and incident response and it works wonders. Those questions where you have to identify stuff by viewing code will be answered easier if the have worked with code (python, bash, power shell) and tools like wireshark, nmap, winpeas etc....

Don’t Miss Oprah’s AI Interview with Sam Altman and Bill Gates on September 12: What would you ask?

Oprah, Bill and Sam talking AI, and everybody else listening...

You know that heading is true . Oprah Winfrey will be discussing Artificial Intelligence with Bill Gates and Sam Altman later this month. AI and the Future of Us airs on ABC on September 12, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET. See Oprah Interview for more. In case you’re wondering, they will explore AI’s impact on our lives. Alright fellow CompTIA instructors, if you were writing Oprah’s questions, what would you ask?

Need some prompts?

Here are the questions perplexity suggested. These began at a 6th-grade reading level before I polished them:

  • How do you think robots and computers will change our everyday lives in the next 10 years?
  • What are some big problems that companies developing AI face, and how are they fixing them?
  • Can you tell us about a time when smart machines helped solve a big problem in the world? What did you learn from it?
  • How do you make sure that making new smart machines is safe and follows rules?
  • How could AI change how we learn in school, and what might be some bad things about that?
  • How can we make sure everyone can use smart machines, not just some people?
  • What are you doing to keep people’s information safe as smart machines get used more?
  • How do you think smart machines will change jobs, and how can people get ready for these changes?
  • How can robots and computers help with big world problems like climate change and health?
  • How can we talk about smart machines in a way that includes everyone’s ideas and worries?

Your turn to create some AI questions

Now that you have some sample questions, it is time to write your own. before September 12, that is. ?
