• Question
Threats Intelligence

Hi buddy
someone know if CompTIA will Introduce son or later for Cyber security field Threat Intelligence a certification? I understand that it cover in CySA+ Certification but its time to create a new ones for cybersecurity threat analyst focus. I see that in the Security Operation Center has new team that not only react by events trigged by security controls and SIEM but their task is proactive hunting for threats inside and outside network organization and providing TTP's of Adversaries and share it to all level of organization.

I understand that CySA+ Certification well explaining this taks and how this team works but if CompTIA vendor could have a certification in deed focus on deep Threat Intelligence was wonderful.
I know some vendor are already providing this certification i think CompTIA need to keep track.

What your viewpoint Guys?

Last Day for Voucher Eligibility - Project+ 005

We haven't posted this in the CIN before, but because I was answering a question regarding it, I thought I'd better say something...

Tomorrow is your LAST Day to complete all the sessions for PK0-005 Project+ if you want to remain eligible for a test voucher. Hopefully, you all have had the chance to sit down and enjoy the sessions, getting them finished up. If not, well, tick-tock tick-tock.

And remember, if you have questions after the fact for Project+, feel free to reach out to me. I'll be happy to answer them.

Cheers everyone!

Common mistakes high school students make on A+ and methods of encouragement.

Hello Forum,

Good afternoon. Apologies if this question has already been asked, I am still learning the setup. We will be starting our certification course this spring. Our students will be high schoolers (Juniors and Seniors). My question is for anyone who has worked with this age group before. What are some common mistakes you have noticed your students make with the A+ certification? What are some ways you encourage your students to take the course AND complete the certification?

My Best,
T.S.

Renewing CompTIA certifications with non-CompTIA IT industry certification

After passing the CASP+ exam in April 2022, my A+, Net+, Security+, CySA+, and PenTest+ are all good through 2025. So is my Data+. My IT Fundamentals+, Project+, Server+, and Cloud Essentials+ are all good for life. That leaves my Cloud+ certification. I passed the beta exam in October 2020 which means it expires in October 2023. Normally, I retake an exam to recertify, or I take a higher level exam to recertify. There is no higher level exam for Cloud+ and I have no idea when the next version will come out, so I'm looking at the list of non-CompTIA IT industry certifications that will give me enough CEUs to renew it.

I was a bit surprised by the list. It contains everything from AWS and Google exams (which make perfect sense) to GIAC exams (ridiculously priced exams) to CGEIT Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (advanced level governance exam) to Offensive Security exams (which require hands-on lab activities) to (ISC)2 Certified in Cybersecurity - CC (an entry-level) cybersecurity exam.

Are there any insiders who can give us insight into how CompTIA chooses the non-CompTIA industry certifications that are accepted for renewing CompTIA certifications?

Meanwhile, I received a free voucher for the (ISC)2 Certified in Cybersecurity - CC exam so I'll be using that to renew my Cloud+.

Passed Comptia Network+ today

Although I have been busy at work, I decided to challenge my networking skills by taking CompTIA Network+ today and passed with a very narrow pass of 761. I have been postponing this paper for a while and decided to dust myself and see the outcome of my skillset.
Wish me luck, I am preparing for CASP+.
Let me hope I will pass this too.

Passed CySA+ (CS0-002)

Hi Everyone,

Passed my CySA+ exam (CS0-002) last week.

Also passed Security+ early this this year, so I now achieved CSAP.

CySA+ exam was an intense exam but I managed to get over the line.

Looking ahead to next year, I would to be Linux+ certified first and then move on the Project +

Regards,
Kiran
