Hello CIN family,

Sharing a win from Lagos.

I recently wrapped a five day CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) bootcamp with a brilliant group at Zenith Bank in Victoria Island, and the results are in: two more of my students, Kidochukwu and Loveday, have officially passed their Security+ exams this month.

That keeps my pass rate at 100% for the year, and honestly, I'm prouder of how they got there than the stat itself. Both of them put in the work every single day: evening study sessions, practice questions on weekends, and the kind of questions in class that tell you someone is thinking like a security professional.

A few things that made this cohort work:

- Two hours of structured daily study, not last-minute cramming. Consistency won every time.
- Every exam objective anchored to something real from their day jobs in SOC and IT operations.
- Practice tests treated as diagnostics, not verdicts. Every wrong answer became the next day's warm-up topic.

Kidochukwu is already applying his skills in SOC operations, and Loveday balanced a demanding job with daily study and still came out on top. Students like these are the best part of this job.

Putting this out here for training coordinators and partners planning cohorts for the rest of the year and into Q1.

I'm Ayomide Oluwaga, a cybersecurity and AI trainer based in Lagos, Nigeria (CIN, CTT). I deliver CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701), CySA+, and broader cybersecurity and AI security training, both virtually and on-site.

Is there a way for an instructor to experience what a student experiences in a class? I am teaching the Linux+ CertMaster Learn and would like to see what resources the students in the class have regarding checking completion and scores. I have a student who complained to me he was not able to track these. Of course, as an instructor I can run the Class Gradebook or Individual Scores by Course reports, but I don’t know what students have like these.

In the past I have used my academic partner account to order the vouchers for them.
But, the academic pricing I used to get has disappeared off the new web store.

I looked at the process for the students to order directly by providing evidence to SheerID, but only Canada, US and UK are supported.

Hi, I obtained my Project+ certification on My 11th 2024. I recall receiving an email that prior certifications would not expire, but new ones would. I received an email: "Your CompTIA Project+ CE certification will expire on Oct 01, 2028." I checked the CompTIA website, and there is no mention that Project+ must be renewed, regardless of the accomplishment date. Certainly, they are not mass emailing all Project+ certification holders. I checked Crucial Exams, and it indicated I was correct. Color me confused

• You earned CompTIA Project+ on May 11, 2024.

Why has the CIN APP been removed from the APP store

So as I sit here writing Anthology reports and installing Omarchy on an old OptiPlex 7070, and trying to work on my SC300 MSFT learning, I can hear Redmond crying now...

Okay, not really, but @jasoneckert should appreciate the joke. But I thought I'd share with all of you the next steps on the journey with my walk away from Microsoft and their incessant need to push Copilot into every corner of my life.

So, in my list of learn by doing stuff for Linux - here are my current personal research projects:

1. 1) AlienWare X17R1 running Commodore Vision OS 3.1 - still waiting for 4.0 to come out
2. 2) Surface 5 with Linux Mint - it's almost heresy, but these days, Microsoft and I are pretty much frenemies.
3. 3) Puppy, then Lubuntu on a Dell Chromebook 3400 - I may switch this one up with Omarchy - Wow, had to pull the battery so I could clear Google's stranglehold and load a proper UEFI BIOS so it would even take Linux. Say goodbye, ChromeOS - I never really loved you.
4. 4) AlienWare M18 running Ubuntu 26 - The divorce is still in place; I have not gone crawling back to Windows because I miss MS Office that much.
5. 5) Avalanche OS on my old LG G Watch. Finally breathed life back into my ailing timepiece.
6. 6) And of course, the aforementioned Omarchy which I gotta say, has got to be the cleanest desktop interface I've seen.

I thought about resurrecting my Harvester HCI environment - had a 16 node cluster set up - that I never really leveraged...sadly.
