ChannelCon / Partner Summit 2024 - Tuesday

Good morning you CIN'ers from across the sphere. Summit is on us and your Fedora sporting Agent is here to capture some of it for you all that cannot be here. Watch these threads through the day.

But before we start, some of you need to be in the Fitness Center with me. While some are running or doing some...Tai Chi...?!

No, y'all...it's time for some morning pain.

Come get some.

  • Question
Do you receive CEU's for completing the CertMaster Perform TTT labs?

I was in the training session that started on June 20 and was curious about this. We were given access to the CertMaster Perform labs. Do we receive any CEU's for completing the labs? Also are they a part of the requirement for the voucher?

Have a great weekend and thank you. :)
Patrick.

9.3.9 Lab - wrong answer

Q1 asks for the IP address of Support's current default gateway
As you see, the answer should be 192.168.0.46

However, the answer that they want is 192.168.0.5.
I was like, where did that came from? LOL

Using TestOut for Network+ Labs is just frustrating.
I don't think I'll recommend using this platform to my classes.

9.3.8 Lab - Wrong answers

Good day!

Just sharing with you another finding from the TestOut Network+ laboratory.

Q1 asks for the MAC address of the Ethernet card in Office 2.
Notice that none of the options are correct.

Q3 asks for the MAC address of the Ethernet card in ITAdmin.
Notice that none of the options are correct.

I've already reported this using the report link:

SDWAN

In the final session today of the Network+ TTT series, one of the topics discussed was SDWAN. I ran across this article a few hours later that would sprinkle a little seasoning on that final session - which by the way was a culmination of a tremendous series, delivered by Mr. Don Tilley!!!

Check out the article: "Where and How Do WAN, SD-WAN, and SASE Fit In?"

Seeking Advice! First-Time CompTIA Trainer!

Hello everyone,

I will be stepping into the role of a CompTIA trainer for the first time next month! With 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, I’m passionate about networking and cybersecurity, and I’m excited about the opportunity to guide others on their certification journeys.

However, as with any new venture, I’m also a bit nervous and eager to ensure that I provide the best learning experience for my students. That's why I'm reaching out to this knowledgeable community for some advice.

Experienced Trainers:

  • Reflecting on Your First Training: What were some of the challenges you faced during your first training session? How did you handle those initial nerves and uncertainties?
  • Current Strategies for Quality Training: How have your teaching methods evolved over time? What strategies do you now employ to ensure that your training sessions are engaging and effective?

Thank you in advance for your support! ?

  • Question
How to upgrade from the Network+ (N10-008) to Network+ (N10-009)?

We're trying to figure out how to upgrade and use the new Network+ (N10-009). Do we need to buy a new Network+ (N10-009) product for this? Or can CompTIA upgrade our current Network+ (N10-008)?

Also, it seems that the credentials to the https://learn.comptia.org/ are not working for the new platform https://platform.comptia.org. When try to create a new account, there is a need of Access key, which probably will come with new purchase? the old access key does not work.

Some guidance from experts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Question - TestOut Lab 8.3.6 SNMP

In the TestOut Network+ laboratory 8.3.6 - Quiz Question #2, it asks:
What types of network interface data were reported to the management system over SNMP?

I happen to know the answer to the question - Utilization and Discards - coming from CCNA.
However, need guidance on how to show it to the students via the OpenNMS from the TestOut Lab.
Kindly advise. Thanks!

What is the shortest time to teach A+

Hi everyone,

I was approached by someone who wanted me to teach Core 1 and Core 2 in five days- TOTAL. The classes would be 9 am- 6 pm. I could see if they asked for 5 days each, but five days total? Is this possible to do? What is the recommended time to teach the CompTIA Core 1 and Core 2? I'd like to go back and ask him to provide more time for the training before I accept. Thanks!

6.4.10 Lab - Question 3

Good day!

Just like to share the experience re: TestOut Lab 6.4.10 > Question 3 is confusing.

It asks, which IP address is assigned to the CorpNet Bldg A router?

1721282603518.png

However, when you check the exhibit there's CorpNet router and a Bldg A router.
1721282586352.png

Many students answer based on the CorpNet router whereas, the question is actually asking for the Bldg A.

I've sent the feedback for TestOut / CompTIA to rewrite the question to just Bldg A router, instead of CorpNet Bldg A router.
