Again new to this website

Hello All,

The are a lot of great resources here. I am really looking for some resources that are free that I can supply for my students to to practice for CompTIA exams or really any other National Certifications. Looking for resources that will help student practice for the exam, of course not just memorizing questions.

Any good resources would be appreciated.

Thank You,
Mike

Will taking the new A+ 1101 & 1102 jeopardize my 2028 expiration date?

Hello everyone,

I have already passes CompTIA Security + 601 and Linux + XK0-005. Doing so has extended my A+ certification expiration date out to 2028.
If I go and pass the new 1101 and 1102 does that nullify my 2028 expiration date and only extend my A+ out three years from now?
Let me know if you need further clarification.

Thank you,
Mike

Not getting correct date on Completion Certificate

Hello All,

I have a problem with the 1101 TTT Series. I took all of them last year. This year I'm going through them again as things have changed and I want to take the Cert. exam. When I finish and pull up the Completion Certificate it has last years date. I have cleared all cache and cookies from the browser. The time and date on my computer is correct. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike

  • Question
Certifications passing rates

Greetings,

I couldn't find in the CIN posts information about average passing rates of CompTIA certs in post-secondary institutions.
We finished 2023 Q2 with 65.2% average passing rate for CompTIA, MS365, AWS Cloud Practitioner and Azure certs.
Is it possible for anyone here to share some figures?

Best regards,

Juan

High School Teacher - New to A+

Hi All! My district is trying to provide students with as much opportunity as possible to earn industry certifications which is great especially for non college bound students. I am at a public high school in Colorado with 90 minute block periods - each class being a semester long. We are going to be using the TestOut curriculum program and I hope to get some old computers and devices to have students practice with. I will also be taking the test along with the first batch of students. The goal would be Core 1 in October at the end of Q1 and Core 2 in December at the end of Q2. Typically I teach programming but have taught networking in the past so some of the information will be new to me. Any words of advice or encouragement are welcome!

CompTIA Ireland / Europe Study Group

Hi all as a SME For CompTIA

I’m looking to start a study group to help train and support the next generation of IT Professionals in Europe.

I'm looking to team up with others in Ireland to get this going.

is there anyone here that would like to do This with me ?

just an FYI This is to help train others this is not a paid position but rather a Give Back position to help others.

The idea of this is to pass on the knowledge learned over the last 20+ years to others.

Kind regards

CySA/CASPs - Public Google Sheet - Anonymous APT Tracking

Was reading some news this morning regarding bias in reporting about cyber attacks originating in the West (the US doesn't hack does it??) when the author cited this little bit of fun reading:
Or as I heard it said, one person's government is another person's APT...

Happy Friday, y'all.

CySA+ TTT Labs

Has anyone tried the labs from the TTT yet? I'm doing the first one and got stuck at the part where I enter the command to look at the eth0 interface. The step has you do: "ip a | grep eth0 > eth0_config.txt". When I get to the step to cat the fille, I need to find the ip4 address for this interface. The problem is, that this interface is not connected. The eth1 interface is connected and has an ip4 address. However, I still get marked "incorrect" when I use that address. Anybody else seeing the same thing?
