Comptia tech+ still not available?

Hi Guys, I/we are in a bit of a bind as I am due to start delivering this course from the 23rd of this month.

With the courseware date being pushed back to yesterday (04/07 UK) from its intended August release date the time for prep was going to be ok, but after its no show yesterday I am a little concerned, especially as I do not have access to the pre-release materials to prepare myself with.

The reason time is so tight is that I fly out on our honeymoon tomorrow afternoon and do not return until the day before I am due to deliver it, all would have been fine, but now...... :(

Can we please have an update as to when it is actually going live, or can someone who has the pre-release PDF so I can read it on the flight please share it

Thank you

Permission Error when using the DataX Lab Environment

Hi,

I’m experiencing some permission issues while trying to follow the instructions in the lab. For example, one of the questions says, “Select the New Folder icon to create a working directory folder titled Example at the path /home/coder/DataX/Lab01/Example.”

I cannot read or write to the DataX directories, but I noticed that I can write to the parent (coder) directory. See the image below. Does anyone know how I could resolve these issues? Your help will be greatly appreciated.Screenshot 2024-08-19 091856.pngScreenshot 2024-08-19 090710.png

Anyone have a Canvas Shell for ITF+ for best practices for a college course?

I am new to CompTIA Instructor network and teaching at a community college in Texas. We are using the soon to be retired ITF+ course. I am interested in tips and best practices for how to present the CompTIA course in Canvas.

I linked the course materials and it is overwhelming, so I know the students will be as well.

It is an 8 week course start to finish.

I have some ideas but if anybody could help fast track me to success, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Do you receive CEU's for completing the CertMaster Perform TTT labs?

I was in the training session that started on June 20 and was curious about this. We were given access to the CertMaster Perform labs. Do we receive any CEU's for completing the labs? Also are they a part of the requirement for the voucher?

Have a great weekend and thank you. :)

How to upgrade from the Network+ (N10-008) to Network+ (N10-009)?

We're trying to figure out how to upgrade and use the new Network+ (N10-009). Do we need to buy a new Network+ (N10-009) product for this? Or can CompTIA upgrade our current Network+ (N10-008)?

Also, it seems that the credentials to the https://learn.comptia.org/ are not working for the new platform https://platform.comptia.org. When try to create a new account, there is a need of Access key, which probably will come with new purchase? the old access key does not work.

Some guidance from experts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

N10-009 Slide errors

Hello everyone, if you are teaching N10-009, do take note of a few errors on the slide deck. (Maybe the content creators can update the materials?)

Module 5 Slide 19 (Question 4 suggested answer should be OSPF)

m6s31.png
Module 6 Slide 31 (The diagram is cut off at the bottom, steps 6 and 7 is not visible)

Module 9 Slide 39 (Should read "Rogue DHCP Server Attacks involve an unauthorized server distributing incorrect network addresses to clients")

Student question stumped the class, unable to drive the nail home for this question.

In CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Student Guide, Pg. 163. or Instructor Guide Pg. 168.
Question 5 states:
5. A company has eight networks, using the subnet addresses 192.168.0.0/24,
192.168.1.0/24 … 192.168.7.0/24. What network prefix and subnet mask can be used to summarize a
supernet route to these networks?

Answer:
It takes 3 bits to summarize eight networks (23 = 8). Subtracting 3 bits from the existing network
mask makes the supernet network prefix /21. The third octet of the mask will use 5 bits, which is
248 in decimal (25 = 248), so the full mask is 255.255.248.0.

This class is unable to grasp this concept, & I am running out of ways to explain & time to stay on track to finish class where I need to for the day. Any help explaining is greatly appreciated.
