Very well presented Core 1 & Core 2 TTT sessions by Ms. Lynn Warne. Had to watch "on demand" but enjoyed each session!
Thank you for all the new materials being offered in the Certmaster/TestOut platform, we have been using it for years...
Lynn did do a good job with it (for as much as I got to see during the TTT), for sure.

In addition to the history classes, educational institutions are like time machines because their computer systems are frequently stuck in 2008. Despite their reliance on technology for everything from instruction to attendance, they somehow believe that "Stephen from IT" and a printer manual are sufficient for cybersecurity. Unless you include that one guy who reset a router, Callow says, "they don’t necessarily have cybersecurity experts on staff."
No kidding. I once applied for an IT job at a rather prestigious university. The salary range for the position would've required that I take a pay cut, taking me back to the 1990s. Academia doesn't want to pay for the tech support and cybersecurity that they need. Hospitals are just as bad, if not worse.

New CompTIA web site launch

The site is now promoting 39 certifications. What I'd like to see is how CompTIA creates value in the eyes of recruiters. CompTIA can then survey recruiters and publish their thoughts. Students can then decide which certs to pursue.
It's not 39 certifications. It's only 16, with the rest being CompCerts. CompCerts only require passing a quiz and no CEUs. They're not full-blown certifications.

When is TestOut going to merge with CertMaster?

The short story is that there is a process to be followed. The Security+ SY0-701 exam was being developed when the TestOut acquisition happened. It was in my opinion way too far along (and too important to CompTIA) to try and wait for a work in progress merged platform. Having participated in the SY0-701 roll out and later working with the merged Network+ product I think they made the right call. I suggest that when Security+ is next updated we'll be on the latest version of the merged platform. I don't expect (my best guess at this time is that) SY0-801 will not light up computer screens until 2027 or 2028.

Academic Pricing for CompTIA Academic Partners Currently Unavailable

I am experiencing the same issue. When I attempt to purchase products for my students I do not see academic pricing. I did open a ticket with CompTIA. I do not see "Academic" next to my name. I did see this last week.

I was told to contact my CompTIA representative, and I did that. They are going to process the order manually on the backend. This will be the process until all the kinks are worked out.

New CompTIA web site launch

I was told today on a help call (June 4, 2025) that the academic store was removed, and students need to purchase through the normal store. At checkout, there will be a place for students to enter their student ID number to get the academic discount. However, this process has not yet been set up, or the help desk person I was speaking with did not fully understand the new process. There will be some sort of verification process to validate that the student is still active at the school. It would be great if CompTIA would release some type of information about this.

Thank you for the response. I also called help desk and they didn't have any information to provide regarding the academic store. I do wish CompTIA released some information for Academic Partners on a new process to order vouchers for students.

New E-Commerce Store Tutorials

CompTIA launched its new website and e-commerce store on Tuesday this week. I have seen a few questions about the site and making purchases.
