Wanted to share an article I wrote, detailing test-taking processes I've used over the years and shared with my students.

So, this came across the wire this morning. If you haven't read it, I think this might, just a little, affect all of us here...lol


The first question on my mind with respect to this: What does that mean for CertMaster? As these were competitor products in the marketplace, does that mean that we'll see CertMaster adopting things like LabSim as part of their overall training packages? Talking-head videos to go along with the CompTIA books? And what kind of impact will this have on other courseware providers and authors for the traditional book companies?

Looks exciting, but it raises a few questions across the board as how all this pans out. I'm sure CompTIA and TestOut haven't completely hammered all this out, but it changes the landscape quite a bit.

I teach high school students through CertMaster Learn.

1. Is there any way to export the list of vocabulary for a particular lesson? For example, lesson 7A of 1102 has 49 words for my students to review and it would be nice to export them for another review game or quiz.
2. Can the vocabulary "list" be filtered? All mine does is return the entire list of 597 words.
3. Who can these ideas be submitted to as suggestions?
4. Are these vocab words available elsewhere?

Hello @Stephen Schneiter, I wanted to check with your office if you have finalized distributing Linux+ vouchers. I attended all the sessions within two weeks of the last live session, but I haven't received a voucher. I have all attendance certificates for all the sessions. Please assist!

While I've submitted a ticket for this, I thought I'd post it here in case someone else has had the same issue and there's a simple solution.

I booked the 220-1102 exam on Sunday. Everything on the site worked flawlessly.
Passed it Tuesday and now want to book 220-1101.

But today, when I log into login.comptia.org to schedule an exam, I'm first prompted to validate my personal details as usual, but I can't "Save Updates" to continue. I get a server error: "User information update with PearsonVue failed The remote server returned an unexpected response: (302) Found."

I've cleared my cache, tried different browsers, and verified that I wasn't missing a mandatory field - but nothing seemed to work.
Anyone seen this before?

I can only find an extremely old book on Amazon...

Thank God, i just passed the Security+ exam.
But there is one problem, one of the PBQ questions does not display the output mentioned in the question. So that I don't know the problem asked in the question, so I chose the answer by guessing ?.
Was this happening because I'm using MacOS? Comments from colleagues in this community are very welcome.

In case you did not notice, so you have 6 Months more time..

• The last day to purchase a voucher and sit for the TK0-201 exam will be September 30, 2023.
• The last day to purchase a voucher and submit the TK0-202 or TK-203 video will be October 31, 2023.

Vouchers already purchased for this certification will expire after these respective dates. Grading will be completed and uploaded to CertMetrics by December 31, 2023. Although the certification will be retiring and CompTIA will no longer be offering it, anyone who has received this certification will remain CompTIA CTT+ certified, good for life.

With the CTT+ retiring in March, I'm curious how many of those here hold the certification. And if you have it, did you do the virtual or classroom exams, or even both? If you have it, has it helped you find more teaching opportunities? I'm sitting for the book exam next week and hope to get in both virtual and classroom options before March. I have a virtual class later this month I can use, and an in-person class in February I can use. I will probably use the same lecture topic for both but make the needed adjustments for virtual vs in-person. I am still deciding on the topic to use.

Asking this as a student, rather than as an instructor... I have a CertMaster account under my personal e-mail address, where I access my CertMaster CE and TTT/Instructor Guide materials. I'm also starting a bachelor's program which uses CertMaster, and I just received an email to my university email address about setting up CertMaster access. It looks like I'm going to have to set up a separate CertMaster account for school, and I'm wondering if it'll be possible to merge it with my current one, if it'll present a problem with attaining or renewing my certs, etc.

Has anyone received TTT Linux Vouchers ?

Everett Community College is looking to hire a new Associate Dean of Business and IT.

I hope someone can help me with a few questions: (Yes, I've already watched the how-to videos)

1. If a student was in a previous Cloud+ class last semester, can I just assign their account to a new contract for Server+ class for this semester?
2. I am the institution admin for the contracts, and also an instructor. Last semester our students purchased access from the academic marketplace they enrolled themselves (we had no seat licenses). I could manage and see their progress in the Boost dashboard everything was dandy. This semester we have a new instructor and have seat licenses available but only enough for one of their classes. I'm assuming the best way would be to make a group for the class with seat licenses and just upload the csv, the instructor would see the group in their Boost dashboard and easy-peasy. Correct?
3. The other late start class will have to purchase their own access from the academic marketplace. Any ideas on what would be the most efficient and best way for me as an admin to manage their accounts? (The new instructor is not well-versed in the platform.)

My high school A+ students (15 to 16 years old) are struggling with the pace at which I am covering 220-1001. I have about 105 hours to give demonstrations, lecture, have them take notes, conduct class discussions, watch related videos, talk about current events, and give them quizzes and tests. They are complaining that we don't do nearly enough hands-on and I see they are having a hard time with the pace to get through the 600 page book in 180 days.

I teach in a comprehensive high school (40 minute classes, students have 6 other classes) where the students in my class have an array of abilities (from students with IEPs to those with no tech knowledge to a student who excels at all his classes to others that aren't that interested in technology but want to try for the cert).

Also, these teenagers aren't doing much in the way of reading or studying at home.

Any thoughts to help this struggling teacher?

Hey folks! While I have been teaching CompTIA for a couple of years, I just joined the CIN recently. Until now I have never thought about trying to purchase my own resources because the training companies I teach for always provided them. Now that I see my Security+ books are expired, I am curious to know where we can purchase our own instructor courseware?

Pen Test is not as simple as we might think, it requires much understanding of all exam objectives and the technical know how of linux commands.
