Cloud Essentials+ Testing Feedback

@Stephen Schneiter @Stephen P

Gentlemen, how are you? I've just tested and passed Cloud Essentials+ this morning and wanted to provide feedback for future change consideration. The exam questions were fair, to the point, non-confusing and testing objectives aligned. There was not one question in my test bank that was odd.

Per the testing objectives:
Number of questions: 70
Length of test: 75 minutes

My exam was 73 questions in 60 minutes. I was not concerned with the number of questions, but to do 73 questions in 60 minutes was an unexpected challenge. I had literally a minute left to sum up my exam and that was with speed reading through the questions. I do not feel this is a fair amount of time to accurately and fairly test one's knowledge, especially for an entry-level exam.

I look forward to your reply. I do feel this exam is a great one to work towards!

Thank you!

Teaching my first A+ in January. Is there a recommended Safety Quiz, Safety Video, or Safety Writeup?

This has probably been asked and answered many times, but I am very new to this and am trying to get up to speed ASAP. We will be using real hardware because I have a lot of old hardware and am trying to save the students money so that they do not have to buy virtual labs. Although, the virtual labs I have seen are quite nice. Perhaps we will move in that direction going forward. Given that we will be using live equipment, I think I will be more comfortable with a safety emphasis upfront. What do you do to get safety into their heads? Signs, constant reminders, a test that they pass and sign?

I am watching the TTT for A+. I was really impressed with Walt's explanation of the wrist strap: Do NOT wear wrist strap when working on equipment that is plugged into A/C power. I might even make a sign about that. I have just gotten started in that series and expect to glean many more nuggets of pure wisdom and common sense. Thanks for reading and for any help. --Harvey

ITDRC - Why You Should Join

A while back in an earlier forum post I detailed in an article I wrote for Certification Magazine information about the ITDRC. I'd encourage you to take a look at that article. To further bolster why I think all CIN members should join, I'd encourage you to look at a video on our activities on Abaco (Bahamas), that was posted on Youtube earlier this week. See:

Looking for some guidance for Security+ Training

Hello all. I'm looking at starting a training program for Security+ and am having a hard time figuring out how this all works. What resources do you use? Do you buy books from CompTIA? Online practice tests/ebooks? Don't even know how to start this up really.

Thanks in advance for any info provided.

CompTIA at NICE Conference 2019

Once again CompTIA was represented very well last week by 2 members of its Business Development CompTIA Academy team at the 2019 NICE Conference in Phoenix,AZ. Jill Thielmann and Brian Matzelle didn't have much time to catch their breath with all the conference attendees stopping by their table. Well, I suppose that what you can expect when you've got a quality product. As always it was great to visit with both of them.

Cleared Linux+ Exam

Took the Linux+ exam on Nov 18. Happy to say that I
was successful.

Just wanted to share with all the individuals within
CompTIA that the T-T-T resources and vouchers that
you make available are being utilized and appreciated.

I was happy to see the hands-on items on the exam.
These type of questions truly increase the value of
your exams.

Thanks again to Mr. Stephen S. and his team for the
resources that made it possible for me to extend my
knowledge in this area, and to assess and validate
that knowledge.
